Cadwell Park Results Statement - 24th May 2010

Following the Red Flag incident during the Junior Endurance at Cadwell Park there have been questions raised as to the possible gain or loss of a lap dependent on competitor position during the Parc Ferme and the situation has been reviewed with the following result.

Due to the location of the incident the field was split into 3 locations - Hairpin, Start Line and Pit Boxes with all competitors assuming Parc Ferme conditions. Timing adjustments were enforced to ensure that competitors at all points were effectively on the same lap and continued as such when the race resumed behind the Safety Car, as such there were no gains or losses incurred due to the incident and the result stands as originally published.

The deployment of a Red Flag during an Endurance event is very rare due to the nature of the event, the situation at Cadwell was necessary due to the severity and location of the incident determining that the circuit had to be blocked at the location to provide medical assistance.

For future reference it should be noted by all teams and competitors that "in the event of a Full Course Red Flag deployment Pit Lane is closed, any competitor in Pit Lane at the time of deployment must proceed immediately to Pit Box Out and be directed by the Marshal, all competitors on circuit must follow Marshals instructions and be placed under Parc Ferme conditions".
